March, 2010 - Tom Breedlove and Richard Taylor attended the British American Business Group James Bond Gala.   Other attendees included the Consulate General from the United Kingdom, the international executive team from the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, members of the Georgia Economic Development office, as well as several state and local politicians.  In total, there were over 155 representatives from the United Kingdom and the United States at the Black Tie Event.

Tom and Richard serve many international clients and both are active in many different international organizations including HLB Gross Goldberg, an international joint venture with our Canadian affiliate.

Proceeds raised from the event will help fund scholarships at Oxford University in the UK as well as the University of Georgia, both Richard's and Tom's alma mater.

February, 2010 - Tom Breedlove, a Principal in the firm and specialist in International Business, introduced two International HLB affiliates to the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Netherlands-American Chamber of Commerce.  John Woodward, the Director of Foreign Investment for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and Richard Sheinis, a founder of the Netherlands-American Chamber of Commerce, will be traveling to the Netherlands and the United Kingdom on a Trade Mission.  John and Richard’s mission will focus on the advantages of doing business and investing in the Southeastern Unites States and more specifically, Metro Atlanta.  Tom was honored to be able to introduce the HLB Affiliate in Amsterdam, HLB Schippers, and the HLB Affiliate in London, Vantis to these local chambers.  Tom intends to travel to Holland with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Netherlands-American Chamber of Commerce when they make a second trade mission trip in May of 2010.

Ongoing - Tom Breedlove, a Principal in the firm and International Business Expert, is a committee chair for the British American Business Group’s (“BABG”) Trade Committee.  The committee’s primary focus is a target marketing initiative responsible for identifying and procuring new members for the BABG. February, 2010 - Tom Breedlove, a Principal of the firm and international business expert, recently attended the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s inaugural Global Impact Awards.  The luncheon, held at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel, honored winners in four categories including Foreign Investment, International Trade and Business Development, International Organization, and Service Provider.    Tom’s hopes to submit nominees from his client base and professional network for these prestigious awards for 2010. January, 2010 - We welcomed Peter Frost, former director of HLB International, to our office.  Peter is visiting several member firms to discuss global oppportunities. I

January, 2010 -Through our membership in HLB International, HLB Gross Collins, P.C. is honored to participate in an international exchange program. December, 2009 - Rick Hamilton and Robert Ainsworth attended the HLB North American Tax Conference on Grand Cayman Island.  Tax professionals from the US and Canada met to discuss current tax topics, including state and local tax issues, international tax planning, and professional practice issues.
They also enjoyed the local attractions – Robert caught a baby tuna, and Rick got to hold a 4 foot wide stingray.

November, 2009-  We were pleased to present Europe’s Economic Outlook at a seminar held at our office.  The presenter was Arnold Christian Stange, partner of HLB member firm HLB Dr. Stuckmann and Partner. We were honored to have Mr. Stange as our guest all the way from Bielefeld, Germany.

October, 2009 - Richard Taylor attended the HLB International Conference in Rio de Janeiro.  The theme of the conference was “New Opportunities in a Turbulent World.”  Members of HLB International came together to share insights and expertise on topics including best practices, technology, international development and HLB initiatives.
