Sonya D. Coates, CPA
Sonya Coates began her career with HLB Gross Collins, P.C. in 1990 and is currently a manager in the Audit and Advisory Services department. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Georgia where she was a member of Golden Key International Honour Society and Beta Alpha Psi.

Sonya provides audit, consulting, advisory, attestation, and tax services for privately-held businesses and non-profit organizations. She serves a broad range of clients with concentrations in the wholesale and retail distribution, manufacturing, and service industries.
Sonya has experience in assisting clients with IRS audit defense, business sales and acquisitions, due diligence, budgeting and forecasting, and fraud risk assessment. She is adept at helping clients to realize their financial success by continually offering improvement strategies, suggestions for strengthening internal controls, and methods of cost reduction. Sonya seeks to establish trusted business relationships with her clients by providing attentive and timely professional services to enhance client operations.
Within the firm Sonya assists with audit department quality control and administration. She also enjoys recruiting and training new employees and serving on the MoneyWatch newsletter committee.
